An official production announcement today confirmed that the Trillion Game manga, written by Riichiro Inagaki with drawings by Ryoichi Ikegami, will be adapted into an anime.
Without mentioning the studio or premiere date, the news came along with a small teaser with the website and social network profile already created.
As for the authors, Inagaki is the creator of the series "Dr. Stone" and "Eyeshield 21". Ikegami is known for his more adult visual style, being the author of several works including "Sanctuary" and "Heat".
Trilion Game tells the story of Gaku, a young nerd with a passion for programming who is saved from a beating by Haru, a schoolboy who is good at fighting and communicating and can beat anyone with his fists or his words.
While Gaku wants to be a skilled programmer, Haru seeks to earn $1 trillion by having everything money can buy. Now friends, they are interviewing for Dragon bank, the largest financial company in the city where the beautiful young Kirika, aged 20, is the daughter of the owner and member of the board.
Intelligent and perceptive, she wants to obtain employees with unique skills in order to further grow her empire. Gaku and Haru see this as the beginning of their path to fortune.
The authors started the manga in 2020 and have already published 7 volumes. It is estimated that the work surpassed 1.2 million copies sold in addition to receiving a live-action film last July.
