A new update regarding Yarinaoshi Reijou wa Ryuutei Heika wo Kouryakuchuu (The Maiden Who Returned in Time to Conquer the Dragon Emperor) today set the release date for the film at some point in 2024. The anime, which was confirmed five months ago, would feature aspects primarily geared toward the female teenage audience and merge romance, fantasy, and time travel.

The story will cover the novel by authors Sarasa Nagase (text) and Fuji Mitsuya (illustrations) with 6 books published. Nagase also wrote "Akuyaku Reijou Nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita", a work in the same style that won an anime in 2022 (image at the end). Yarinaoshi Reijou will tell the story of Jill Savelle, a girl who is the daughter of nobles without much aristocratic prestige except for the immense magical power she harbors in her body.
At the age of 10, she was given in marriage to Gerald de Kleitos, a young prince with selfish intentions who aimed to use her as a military weapon against the neighboring empire. Already at 16, Jill is a formidable wizard and warrior but when she rebels against Gerald's evil intentions, she ends up eliminated on the battlefield.

The girl however returns in time and decides to do everything differently. Again at the age of 10, during a party Jill tries to avoid getting engaged to Gerald by choosing anyone else in the room. By accident she is now engaged to Hades Theo Rave, cursed emperor of the neighboring kingdom who may in the future plunge the world into an ocean of flames. The novel has a manga version drawn by Yuzu Anko
