Honomieru Shonen (Phantom Seer) is an adventure, comedy, romance and supernatural horror manga and one of those cases that are difficult to understand why it didn't achieve greater success.
Written by Tougo Gotou with drawings by Kento Matsuura, the manga with its exquisite art and charismatic characters was published between 2020 and 2021, ending, prematurely in my opinion, in just 4 volumes.
Its story follows the character Riku Aibetsu, a high school girl with an attractive appearance who loves helping people, influenced by her policeman father and nurse mother.
It turns out that Riku has a keen sixth sense capable of detecting dangers and predicting accidents seconds before they happen. However, she is chased by a Phantom, a type of evil spirit that, if not eliminated, can take her life.

It is at this moment that Riku meets Iori Katanagi, a young man considered one of the greatest Shamans in Japan, having the ability to manipulate shadows and summon a fearful being called Ongyoki, eliminating any Phantom that appears.
Despite this power, Iori is the opposite of Riku, being lazy and selfish, seeking to avoid danger and only doing what pleases him. He however has a super sensual and much more powerful older sister, characterized by the blanket over her eyes and who directs him to good actions, even if it is force.
She orders Iori to protect Riku and help her in this case because the girl will discover something traumatizing. Although he really wants to help people, Riku actually attracts Phantons and his sixth sense only detects danger.
The manga is available for free on Shueisha's Manga Plus reading service. Authors Tougo Gotou and Kento Matsuura are currently working on a new work with no major details yet.
