Fifth season of Kingdom has confirmed start

Signpost and Pierrot studios released another Kingdom update today, confirming the start of season 5 on January 6, 2024. Featuring reasonable animation, the series is well-loved by fans of military plots, in this case focused on the political conflicts of ancient China. 

The anime covers Yasuhisa Hara's manga currently with 69 volumes published and more than 30 million copies sold. The author has already expressed his desire to deliver 100 copies by the end of the work.

Kingdom is set around the 5th century BC. when China experiences a period of philosophical and scientific evolution but great political decadence, being divided into 7 rival states: Qin, Qi, Zhao, Han, Wei, Chu and Yan. Young Xin is a military servant of the state of Qin wishing to become a renowned warrior, in addition to sharing the same goal as King Ying Zheng in unifying China.  

To do this, he must prove his worth in various conflicts by rising through the ranks until he achieves the position of general. The 1st season was released in 2012 with computerized visuals of rather dubious quality. In 2013, Pierrot changed the animation to traditional 2D and since Season 3 of 2020, the Signpost studio has been contributing to the production.
