Re:Monster, a light novel by Kogitsune Kanekiru with drawings by Yamaada, will be animated, according to a production statement released today. The announcement was made along with a first teaser and a photograph from the Deen studio, although it made no mention of the first season. The book, which is now finished, was published in 10 installments between 2012 and 2017. A total of 1.5 million copies have been sold, including the manga adaptation that Haruyoshi Kobayakawa began drawing in 2014. Re:Monster depicts the tale of a protagonist who is reborn as a low-level Goblin in a different universe.
However, he has an exclusive ability that allows him to strengthen himself and evolve his body by devouring the flesh of monsters. Now called Goburou, the protagonist quickly rises to the top of the hierarchy and seeks to evolve even further, in a world where only the fittest survive.
The series' technical team is still unknown, but in the dubbing Goburou will be played by Takuya Sato. More details in future updates.
