The third season of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari will have a new director.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari received a new video today promising more fluid and dynamic animation, one of the Season's previous Season's criticisms.

The third season premieres in October 2023, though with no specific date yet. Kinema Citrus will continue to produce it, but Masato Jinbo will be replaced by Hitoshi Haga in charge of overall direction (Hitoshi was Season 1's episode director and storyboarder).

*Note: A pre-release of the anime will take place on October 1 in a few chosen Japanese theaters.

The storyline will now see Naofumi, Raphtalia, Filo and company in search of the other three cardinal heroes who are missing.

Tate no Yuusha aired in 2019 being for many the best adventure isekai of that year. The sequel came out in 2022 but greatly disappointed fans in both story and animation.

The anime covers the light novel by Yusagi Aneko (text) and Minami Seira (illustrations) which has surpassed 11 million copies sold in 22 published books.

The voice cast features names like Asami Seto (Raphtalia), Kaito Ishikawa (Naofume), Rina Hidaka (Filo), Kikuko Inoue (Queen Melromarc) and Maaya Uchida (Melty).
