Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou (Family Circumstances of the Insecure Witch) will premiere on October 1, 2023, according to a new illustration of the series shared by Studio A-Real today.
The series will have modest animation and a plot that combines slapstick family comedy and fantasy, which will be at the expense of the stunning graphics.
The animation, which will be directed by "Tenkuu Shinpan" director Masahiro Takata, is based on the five released volumes of the manga by Piroya.
In Dekoboko Majo, Alyssa, a 223-year-old witch with childlike characteristics, will relate the tale of how she comes upon an abandoned infant in the jungle.

In Dekoboko Majo, Alyssa, a 223-year-old witch with childlike characteristics, will relate the tale of how she comes upon an abandoned infant in the jungle.

Alyssa names the child Viola and decides to raise her as a foster child. However, after 16 years Viola is grown and, having a lush and developed body, she is much bigger than her mother leading others to believe that they are in reverse roles.
The anime's staff will also include character design by Miwa Yoshida and art direction by Masaaki Kawaguchi (same role as "Plastic Memories").
In the dub, Alyssa will be voiced by Aoi Koga (the Kaguya from "Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai"), Viola will be voiced by Nana Mizuki (the Buchou from "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san"), and Lyra will be voiced by Romi Park (the Hange from "Shingeki no Kyojin").
Kana Hanazawa will play the narrator while Takaya Hashi (Desmond from "Spy x Family") will play the Phoenix bird.
