A light novel otome game called Loop 7-kaime no Akuyaku Reijo (The Villain Returns in Time for the 7th Time) is specifically targeted towards female audiences who like
comedy, romance, and fantasy.
According to a statement published today in Japan, the piece, which was written by Touko Amekawa and illustrated by Hachipi Suwan, will be animated sometime in 2024.
The news came together there is a first trailer and image confirming adaptation of Kai and Hornets studios already in an advanced stage of production.
The story is centered on the character Rishe Imgard Wertsner, who in the 6 previous lives assumed different professions in a fantasy world being a merchant, botanist, servant and knight among others.
However, in all of them, her fate was fateful since, after being rejected by her fiancé and expelled from her own family, Rishe always ended up dead at the age of 20 by Arnold Hein, emperor of the neighboring country.
On her 7th return in time, knowing everything that will happen, she decides to travel the world and who knows how to avoid the tragic future. Rishe however is surprised when the Emperor finds her and makes her a marriage proposal. She now has the opportunity, or misfortune, to live next to the man who has killed her 6 times.
The anime will be directed by Kazuya Iwata (he directed "Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de"), screenplay by Touko Machida (she wrote for "Isekai Nonbiri Nouka"), character designs by Kenichi Onuki (designed for "Kyoukai Senki" and "Tokyo Revengers") and soundtrack by Satoshi Hono and Ryunosuke Kasai.
In the dub, Rishe will be voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa (Kita Ikuyo from "Bocchi The Rock!") while Arnold will be voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuno from "Black Clover").
Both the novel and its manga version, drawn by Hinoki Kino, will receive their 5th volume on August 25.
